CB Examination
Is there a final exam?
Yes. To earn the CB credential, you must pass the Certified Bookkeeper Examination at the end of the course. But before taking the Final Exam, there are practice quizzers and examinations to help you simulate the Final Examination.
What is the format of the exam?
The exam includes:
- Part 1. Multiple-choice questions
- Part 2. Practical bookkeeping scenarios
How many questions are there?
Part 1, 50 Multiple Choice
Part 2, 1 Practical Bookkeeping
Is the exam timed?
The exam includes:
- Two (2) hours for Part 1. Multiple-choice questions
- Three (3) hours Part 2. Practical bookkeeping scenarios

What is the passing score?
A minimum of 70% of the total score is required to pass the CB exam.
Can I retake the exam if I fail?
Yes. You may retake the exam. A small re-exam fee of P500 will be applied.
How do I access the exam?
You’ll access the exam online through AssetPro’s secured examination website within the Examination Period/Window.
When can I take the exam?
You can open the examination any day and anytime during the Examination Window/Period. The Examination Window is open for three(3) days. You can take Part 1 on Day 1, and take the Part 2 on Day 2 or Day 3. You can also take both parts on the same day if you want to. But you must first take Part 1 before taking Part 2.
CB Certificate
What do I receive after passing the exam?
You will receive:
- The PICAT Certified Bookkeeper (CB) digital certificate
- The PICAT Certified Bookkeeper (CB) original hard-copy
Will I pay additional fees for the certificates?
You won’t need to pay any additional fees for the issuance of the digital copy and the shipping of your original hard copy certificates.
What organization issues the CB Certificate?
The CB certificate is issued by the Philippine Institute of Certified Accounting Technologists (PICAT), an independent private professional training and certification organization. The certificates issued by PICAT are not government licenses nor a substitute to public practice licenses. The certification serves as recognition of skills, training, and assessment based on the PICAT framework for bookkeeping.
Can I add the certification to my resume or LinkedIn?
Absolutely. You can include it in your CB, portfolio or LinkedIn profile after passing the final certification exam and complying with program standards.
Does the certification expire?
Yes. The certificate of accreditation will expire three (3) years from the date of issuance. You should renew it before the expiration to maintain your accreditation. A minimal fee of P500 will only be paid.
Can I use the CB title after my name?
Yes, once certified, you may use the designation “CB” as indication of your accreditation within the PICAT.
